Robin L. Rosenberg was nominated by President Barack Obama, confirmed by the United States Senate, and sworn in as a United States district judge for the Southern District of Florida on July 25, 2014. Judge Rosenberg serves as chair of the Judicial Conference Advisory Committee on Civil Rules. Judge Rosenberg also serves as a member of the Board of Editors for the new edition of the Manual for Complex Litigation (a publication of the FJC). She is a board member of the American Law Institute and is the co-creator of the national US Courts Civil Discourse and Decisions program, a program presented to high school, college and law students throughout the country.

Judge Rosenberg also serves as chair of the Eleventh Circuit Civics Education Committee and is a member of the Eleventh Circuit Local Rules Committee. She serves as chair of the Southern District of Florida Technology Committee and is a member of the Southern District of Florida Local Rules Committee, Pro Se Committee, and Fairness and Diversity Committee.

Judge Rosenberg is the recipient of the Federal Bar Association’s 2019 Kenneth L. Ryskamp award in recognition of her distinguished contribution to enhancing the quality of the practice of law in the Southern District of Florida. She also received the Miami Jewish Legal Society’s 2024 Devorah Judge Award as well as the 2024 Distinguished Federal Judicial Service Award for outstanding and sustained service to the public. The Florida Supreme Court awards the distinction to a federal judge who exemplifies the ideals embodied in the Code of Conduct for United States Judges, furthering the goals of equal justice under the law and encouraging pro bono service by Florida lawyers.

Judge Rosenberg served on the Duke School of Law’s Board of Visitors for several years and currently is the chair of the Editorial Board of Judicature, a scholarly journal focused on the judiciary, the administration of justice, and the rule of law published by the Bolch Judicial Institute at Duke. She published an article in Judicature in August 2019 entitled “The Conversations of a Lifetime: The Power of the Sentencing Colloquy and How to Make it Matter” and an article in 2022 entitled “Critical Life Skills Through Courtroom Experiences.”

Before she was elevated to the federal bench, she served as a Circuit Court judge for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County) from January 2, 2007, until July 2014. Judge Rosenberg was assigned to the Circuit Civil Division from 2007-2013, the Foreclosure Division in 2013, and the Criminal Division from 2013-14. Prior to her election as a circuit judge, Judge Rosenberg was in private practice representing and counseling clients in general employment law and litigation matters.

Judge Rosenberg is a graduate of Princeton University (BA, politics major) and Duke University's Law School (JD), and Duke University's Sanford School of Public Policy (MA).

Judge Rosenberg is married to attorney and author Michael McAuliffe, and they have three adult children.
