Speaker Bio
A local Memphian and University of Tennessee graduate, Jimmy Sexton is President of Creative Artists Agency’s Football division. CAA is the #1 ranked sports agency according to Forbes. The football division headed by Jimmy dominates the NFL player contract representation, having negotiated several billion worth of active contracts. CAA’s clients include TJ Watt, Josh Allen, Bryce Young, Matthew Stafford, AJ Brown and CeeDee Lamb.
As the youngest agent ever licensed by the NFL Players Association, Jimmy quickly learned he would have to prove himself worthy to be entrusted with the careers of the athletes and coaches he represented. Jimmy’s success speaks for itself, having served over 40 years in the industry, and he is widely recognized as one of the most powerful forces in college and professional sports.
Jimmy signed his first client and college roommate, Reggie White, immediately after graduating from Tennessee. Shortly after, he received a tip with a newspaper clipping attached highlighting an impressive, yet little known forward from the University of Central Arkansas who would become his first basketball client: Scottie Pippen. Jimmy went on to build a very successful NBA practice throughout the 90’s while also continuing working with NFL players until shifting his focus from basketball to the coaching business with the signing of his first coaching client, two-time Superbowl champion, Bill Parcells.
Over the last few years, Jimmy has accomplished two significant firsts in his career: Representing the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2023 when Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was drafted to the Carolina Panthers and, most recently, representing an NFL Head Coach during their first Super Bowl victory when Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni hoisted the Lombardi Trophy this past February.
Jimmy has represented legendary clients including, but not limited to, Reggie White, Scottie Pippen, Bill Parcells, Isaac Bruce, and Nick Saban. Today, Jimmy spends his time managing the Football and Coaching groups at CAA while also continuing to represent coaches and players.
