Robert Kroner, a Pittsburgh native and former high school math teacher, spent 26 years in the FBI’s Youngstown office, after his assignment in 1972, pursuing criminals including Vincenzo “Jimmy” Prato, Charles
“Charlie” Carabbia, Joseph N. “Little Joey” Naples, Jr., Ernest “Ernie” Biondillo, and Lenine “Lenny” Strollo. His legacy includes turning Lenny Strollo into a federal government informant and witness, opening the
floodgates of indictments, arrests, guilty pleas, and convictions of dozens of organized crime figures and public officials. Kroner retired in 2002.
